Cubic Defense Systems has introduced three new products during the Defence Systems and Equipment International (DESi) exhibition in London.
The products - the Precision Combat Training System (PCTS), the URX 3000 search-and-rescue radio and the Tactical Common Data Link (TCDL) system - are designed to support both military training exercises and tactical operations world-wide.
"These three products address new requirements for interoperability on the future digital battlefield and feature commercially available hardware and software systems that allow for easy modifications and future upgrades," said Bruce Roberts, president of Cubic Defense Systems.
Precision Combat Training System (PCTS)
PCTS is a dual-simulation system for both tactical training and precision gunnery. PCTS is also the only system that provides unrestricted "fire-and-forget" capabilities, and simulates tactical engagements at extended ranges in any type of foliage. The system is designed to ensure compatibility with existing and future Combat Training Centre-Instrumentation Systems (CTC-IS), as well as Cubic's new PC-Range Instrumentation System (PC-RIS).
URX-3000 GPS Survival Radio
The URX-3000 is Cubic's new-generation radio for combat search and rescue missions. The handheld radio combines the benefits of GPS technology and Cubic's AN/ARS-6(V) Personnel Locator System (PLS).
The new radio is smaller, lighter and has better range performance than any other survival radio. It features 12 Channel GPS for precise location, secure location data transmissions, one million ID Codes and 3,000 UHF Channels.
The URX-3000 survival radio is interoperable with the AN/ARS-6(V) - the airborne component of PLS, the standard combat search-and-rescue system for the US Army, Navy, Air Force and NATO. The airborne guidance system locates, covertly and precisely, downed or missing pilots - in a single pass under harsh operating conditions - while concealing their location from the enemy.
Tactical Common Data Link (TCDL)
The Tactical Common Data Link (TCDL) uses commercial high-speed Digital Signal Processing (DSP) technology to transfer radar data, video and other sensor information from surveillance aircraft to analysts on the ground or Navy ships. It has been tested by the US Department of Defense.
The TCDL's unique design ensures affordability and versatility. It has compact, lightweight terminals with flexible form factors suitable for both manned and unmanned reconnaissance platforms.
Cubic's CDL terminals are programmable to any data rate (and multiple data rates) up to 50 Mbps, including standard CDL data rates of 200 Kbps and 10.71 Mbps. Modular interfaces allow easy connection to aircraft computers and ground- or ship-based data exploitation systems.
