Minelab demonstrates its latest mine detector

14 September 2001

Minelab, Australia's leading metal sensing technology company, has brought its latest mine detector to DSEi.

The F3 mine detector will be trialled extensively in Cambodia, the Balkans and Southern Africa over the next few months before its market release in February 2002, proof of the R&D and product commitment Minelab is making to de-mining around the world.

The F3 has Minelab's patented BiPolar technology with interchangeable coils for land mine of UXO detection. It is waterproof down to three metres and is simple to operate. It can detect all metal and minimum metal mines at full sensitivity, regardless of the mineral content of the soil. It will not initiate magnetic influence mines.

To maximise safety it has been designed with the operator in mind and will not allow accidental reduction in safety.

Headquartered in Adelaide, and with a wholly Australian owned subsidiary in Ireland, Minelab's Countermine Division is progressively introducing its metal mine detector throughout the world and is now found in 37 countries.
