Tadiran develops man-pack ISTAR receiving system

Knowing that every combatant down to the front-line soldier must be armed with high quality intelligence information. Tadiran Electronic Systems has developed a tools for optimal situation awareness for lower echelons, typically battalion and below.

A prime example is the MRS Man-Pack Receiving System series. offering rapid real time high-resolution images and up-to-the-minute tactical information. Totally digital. the latest NIRS receives. processes and displays real time digital images and telemetry data arriving directly from UAVs and other sensors and payloads. Without the MRS. video images arrive far from the front line and valuable time passes until front-line soldiers receive critical intelligence information.

The backpack unit houses a computer video receiver. antenna. and lightweight. hand-held TFT display for presenting video telemetry and map data. Proprietary image and data manipulation tools help the user to convert raw data into a graphical intelligence overlay on a digital map

The Electronic Map, integral GPS receiver and compass enable system operation. mission management. orientation and a 3-D view of the battlefield terrain. Overlaid on the map is the UAV/Camera footprint. as well as target information and tactical symbols for creating the complete situation awareness picture.

The objective is to simplify access to mission-critical information. making the process similar to logging onto the Internet via a home computer The 'Tactical Internet' concept, channelling only the most relevant data to all echelons. optimises situational awareness. pointing the way to smart decisions 'just a click away'.
