Ultra secures HIPPAG compressor contract for LR TRIGAT

25 July 2000 and qualification contract valued at £l million from Lenkflugkbrpersysteme GmbH, for Ultra's HiPPAG 320 series on-board compressor.

HiPPAG 320 is a miniature, electronically controlled, pure air compressor and filtration system, designed as an onboard source of pure air for cooling infra-red missile seekers.


The HiPPAG 320 will be integrated into the launcher of the latest generation, helicopter launched Long Range Trigat Anti-Tank missile. The HiPPAG has been specially configured for this installation and will be used to provide a continuous source of high pressure pure air for cooling the infrared seeker heads of the four missiles carried in the launcher.

HiPPAG has been in operational service on US Marine Corps AV-BB and AH-i since 1997 and has accumulated over 40,000 operating hours with exceptional levels of in-service reliability. The system has also been delivered to the Italian Navy for its fleet of Harrier II plus aircraft and is under qualification for the Eurofighter Typhoon and Harrier GR-7 aircraft.
