Today marks the anniversary when, 91 years ago, Louis Bleriot took off from France at 0430 hrs on 25 July 1909 and became the first to fly across the English Channel.
His epic flight was made at 330 ft and ended with a crash landing at Dover at 0517 hrs. Bleriot's historic flight was truly an aviation milestone. The aircraft pictured is a Bleriot Type XI.
