Meggitt wins two Avro RJX contracts

GKN Aerospace has placed two new contracts with Meggitt Aerospace Equipment, estimated at £15 million. Meggitt is to supply both the high-pressure metallic ducting systems and the firewall seals aboard the new A5977 engine nacelles.The Honeywell AS977 has been selected by BAE SYSTEMS Regional Aircraft to power its new Avro RJX family.

The customised ducting system will be manufactured in Meggitt's Avica UK facility in Hemel Hempstead and the firewall seals by Meggitt's Bestobell facility in Slough, using the latest materials and manufacturing technologies.

Meggift is a supplier to some of the world's leading programmes, including the Westland Helicopters EHI0l, the Lockheed Martin C-130J, Bombardier BD100, Saab JAS39 and Ariane space launchers.
