CMC Electronics has won a contract to supply its high-performance CMA-2082F electronic warfare Avionics Management System for the German Air Force's Tornado fighter/bomber midlife improvement program. CMC is in the process of completing the development phase and expects series production to begin in October 2003.
The CMA-2082F/D Avionics Management System is a self-contained high-performance multifunction control and display unit, with onboard mission processing. It integrates navigation sensors and radios, communications radios, displays and other mission avionics and aircraft avionics.
Over 1,500 of CMC's multifunction control and display units are in use by military forces world-wide. Installations include the USN ES-3A Viking, U.S. Army HH-60L Black Hawk Medical Evacuation helicopter, USAF MH-60G Pave Hawk and MH-53 Pave Low III helicopters.
"The potential exists to provide this system for over 300 aircraft, which would result in approximately $20 million in revenue for CMC over the next six to seven years," said Jim Close, president and CEO, CMC Electronics.
