Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) has entered into a Fleet Management Programme (FMP(R)) with Air Midwest, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Mesa Air Group, Inc. The contract, includes a 6-year Term Cost Plan (TCP(R)) covering certain engine maintenance services, in addition to the purchase of select assets of Mesa's Desert Turbine Services maintenance facility located in Farmington, New Mexico. The agreement is valued at approximately US$70 million over the life of the contract. It provides customised support under P&WC's TCP(R) for Mesa's fleet of 116 installed and spare PT6A-67D engines, as well as accessory coverage. This agreement is in addition to the current Event Cost Plan (ECP(R)) agreement covering Mesa's fleet of 27 PW123D engines.

Simula, Inc announced at the Farnborough International Airshow that it has been selected by the Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation to build crashworthy armoured crew seats for the UH-60M Black Hawk helicopter. Current US Army plans call for upgrading existing Black Hawks to the new UH-60M configuration. Simula will support Sikorsky in fulfilling the Army's need through development, qualification, and multi-year procurement of the crew seats. As the sole supplier for the crew seats, this agreement is expected to result in over $100 million of revenue for Simula over the life of the Army's upgrade programme.

Smiths Aerospace has been selected by Fokker Services, member of the Netherlands based Stork Aerospace Group, to develop and supply a new design transient suppression unit (TSU) to meet SFAR 88 (Special Federal Aviation Requirement) on the Fokker 50/60/70 and 100 aircraft. TSU deliveries are anticipated in the third quarter of 2003 pending decisions from the FAA. Smiths will design and manufacture the transient suppression unit at the Cheltenham, UK facility.

Pratt & Whitney Canada Corp. has selected DynCorp International LLC to produce installation kits for the UH-1 engine upgrade program. The programme provides operators of UH-1 Huey helicopters with a simple and cost-effective upgrade of their current engine to a modern PT6C-67D engine equipped with an electronic engine control. This partnership will enable P&WC to provide UH-1 operators with a complete turnkey installation, kitting and support solution that benefits from the know-how of two industry leaders.

AMS has delivered its Functional Analysis System Trainer (FAST) to the Operational Conversion Unit at RAF Kinloss. Commissioning was completed in the last week in May 2002. The Trainer represents the Electronic Warfare (EW) Operations Tactical Situation Display aboard the Nimrod Aircraft. This follows the delivery of two FAST classrooms to RAF Cranwell in September 2001. The Kinloss Trainer consists of 4 Student Positions and one Instructor Station and is fully networked. The Trainers are designed to cater for Nimrod and other EW operators from initial training through to continuation training. The system supports automatic student performance monitoring. The sophisticated trainers are based on Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) networked PCs running Microsoft Windows operating systems.
