Alenia Marconi Systems receive new orders from UAE

AleniaMarconi Systems, Dynamics Division has received an order to upgrade part of the Integrated Training Range (ITR) of the UAE Air Force and Air Defence (UAEAF&AD).

The contract is for the supply and integration of GPS-based equipment to enhance the air-to-air combat training aspects of the range and will provide the UAEAF&AD with a rangeless, fully autonomous air combat training capability.

This contract is the latest in a series of contracts that AMS has received since the early 1990's to provide, update and maintain the instrumentation for the UAEAF&AD training and test range.

The new GPS-based system will enter service this year and will provide time-space position accuracy, airborne electronics and integrated display and debriefing stations.
