Bombardier Aerospace has sold five all-new Bombardier Continental business jet aircraft to TAG Aeronautics, the representative and distributor for Bombardier wide body aircraft in 22 Middle East and Arab countries. The value of the order is approximately U.S.$75 million, (Cdn.$114.15 million) and the first aircraft are scheduled to enter service in early 2004.
"We are delighted by this purchase agreement since it further strengthens Bombardier's growing presence in the Middle East and compliments the five Continental business jets already sold in the region," stated Peter Edwards, executive vice-president, sales, Bombardier Business Aircraft. "Thanks to the ongoing strong support of TAG Aeronautics - who have been instrumental in shaping the corporate aviation market in the Middle East - this region has been a strong market for Bombardier business aircraft in recent years and offers excellent growth potential," added Mr. Edwards.
"The Continental is an exceptional aircraft and is well-suited for travel in the Middle East," stated Benoit Kerub, president, TAG Aeronautics. "It features a large cabin and provides excellent high cruise speed without compromising airfield capability."
