Goodrich Corporation has been selected by Rolls-Royce to supply and integrate the fuel delivery system for its Trent(R) 900 engine, chosen by several airlines to power the Airbus A380 superjumbo aircraft. Building upon the Rolls-Royce Trent family concept, the Trent(R) 900 engine's power at entry into service will be 68,000 lbs thrust with growth potential to 84,000 lbs thrust.
According to Jim Baker, President of Goodrich's Turbine Fuel Technologies division, "The Trent(R) 900 award is a result of our strategy to create a systems capability in turbine engine fuel delivery encompassing fuel manifold, weight distributor valves and fuel nozzles. We are committed to a long term relationship with Rolls-Royce to jointly develop and market low emissions combustion solutions for large commercial turbofan engines."
Paul Carter, Managing Director of Combustion Systems for Rolls-Royce plc, commented, "Goodrich has demonstrated the technology and responsiveness required to assist us in meeting our customer's ever-increasing expectations for reliability and economy of operation together with environmental considerations."
