Embraer announced new orders for its 44-seat ERJ 140 [pictured below] from Chautauqua Airlines and Trans States Airlines. These new orders are part of an agreement renewal between the two airlines and American Airlines, which will result in an increase in service to the St. Louis hub in the United States.
"These two new orders from Chautauqua and Trans States Airlines confirms the partnership with these customers as well as the flexibility offered by our ERJ family and their satisfaction with the support we provide to their operations" said Mauricio Botelho, Embraer's president and CEO. "Ranging from 37 to 50 seats and with 96% commonality these aircraft are ideally suited for the growing regional aviation market', he added.
Chautauqua Airlines' contract is a confirmation of 28 options the airline has on the ERJ 140/145, fifteen of which will be flown for American Airlines. The airline has also added 25 new options. This brings the total number of Embraer jets ordered by Chautauqua Airlines to 73 firm orders and 42 options.

Trans States Airlines has placed a new order for 10 ERJ 140 aircraft and an additional 25 options. The total number of regional jets ordered by this airline now stands at 22 firm and 25 options.
